New Music Report #2
What’s new in the world of my music interests
-
The Bestiary: Newest release from Castle Rat, bigger and better than the first album. Wizard especially is a highlight. Overall the dynamics and variety on this album are a big step up from their previous album (which was also great)
-
Forest of Your Problems: 4th album from newly discoverd Snapped Ankles. Hints of Kraftwerk. Not much to say about this yet because I only discovered it yesterday, but definitely a good find and the rest of their albums are on the wishlist.

Feel Safe by Yass, similar in some ways to Forest of Your Problems, more driving. Directly inspired by Kraftwerk but darker/more distorted. Kind of cool. The description on the bandcamp page does a better job describing it than I could:
The birth of whale songs that whimsically skim over the ice desert, fleeing from a hurricane and a box full of sounds and noises. She wears headphones to protect herself from the cold but notices that everything turns into warmth. And for this mixture, there is a year of joy in the driving guitar noise and the buzzing escape sounds from one’s own roughness.
